Privacy & Research Disclosure
Effective September 27, 2026
Research purpose
Forecast Lab is an experimental, educational research project. It evaluates how automated models and AI-assisted methods can compare public weather forecasts with prediction-market prices. It is not a professional forecasting service or a trading recommendation service.
AI and model limitations
AI-assisted systems and statistical models can produce inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, inconsistent, or misleading results. Errors may come from source data, station reporting, forecast revisions, market quotes, model assumptions, software defects, or unexpected weather. A displayed confidence, edge, ranking, or past result does not guarantee a future outcome.
No professional advice
Nothing on this site is financial, investment, trading, meteorological, emergency, or legal advice. Do not use this dashboard for safety-critical weather decisions. Consult official weather authorities for watches, warnings, and emergency guidance. Do not risk money based solely on this research.
Paper trading and market information
Paper trades are simulations and are labeled as such. Simulated results are not actual exchange fills and may not reflect available liquidity, slippage, fees, execution timing, or real-world performance. Exchange quotes and preserved live-ledger information are identified separately where displayed.
Privacy and browser storage
Forecast Lab does not use advertising trackers and does not sell personal information. Google Analytics loads only after a visitor allows analytics. If allowed, Google may receive browser, device, interaction, referral, and approximate-location information and may use Analytics cookies. A first-party cookie remembers the visitor’s analytics choice for 180 days. The site may also use an essential signed session cookie for authentication and security. Hosting and security infrastructure may temporarily retain ordinary technical access logs, such as request time, IP address, browser information, and requested path. Those logs should be limited to operation, reliability, abuse prevention, and security.
External data
The dashboard may display information obtained from public weather services and prediction-market sources. External information can be unavailable, revised, delayed, or incorrect, and remains subject to the applicable source’s terms and policies.
Human oversight
This experiment is designed for review and evaluation by people. Model output should be questioned, tested, and compared with authoritative sources. No automated result should replace qualified human judgment where health, safety, legal rights, or money may be affected.
Changes and contact
This disclosure may change as the experiment, data practices, or legal requirements change. Material revisions will use a new disclosure version so visitors see the updated notice. Questions may be sent to info@preceptress.design.
